Best Swimsuits for Hourglass Figures – Keep Up With the Work of Nature

Swimsuits for hourglass figures

So nature has created you in the most symmetrical manner and all you need to do is to keep up with this. Meaning, hourglass body shape refers to more or less the same size of your bust and hips accompanied with defined and narrower waist. The best swimsuits for hourglass figures involves the ones keeping this balance and accentuating it.

The good news is that nearly any swimsuit will flatter your shape. The bad news, however, is that it leaves you with too many options to choose and it could get overwhelming. Besides that, there are few tips you should keep in mind not to spoil the gift nature has blessed you with.

So What to Keep in Mind When Shopping Swimsuits for Hourglass Figures?

As we already mentioned your main task is to keep the symmetry of your body. So we have prepared few tips and tricks to flatter your proportional body and to avoid ruining the balance.

Matching Top and Bottom – Keeping Your Shoulders and Hips Balanced

Matching top and bottom will do a great job in keeping your top and bottom balanced. If your waist is well-defined and slim, you can consider choosing some detailing on the sides of the bottoms. It will put the accent and highlight your curves.

Consequently, mix-and-match is a no-go swimsuit solution for hourglass figures. It is due to the fact that different colored top and bottom will ruin the symmetry of your body visually and make it look disproportional.

High-Waisted Bottoms – Flatter Your Hourglass in Style

High-waisted styles are a retro yet chic choice to flatter your hourglass figure. Besides that, the higher the waist the more the possibilities to get some additional support, control and shaping. Tummy control bikini can help you with problems around your midsection.

However, if you are petite, high waisted bathing suit could not be the best choice. We have heard a lot about bottoms hitting too high leaving little to no skin exposed. It looks weird and doesn’t feel comfortable.

Underwire Bathing Suits – Ensuring the Needed Support

You most likely need some extra bust support. Underwire bathing suits are there to help you with this and make you feel comfortable while on the beach.

Besides that, you should pay attention to the thickness of straps – the thicker the straps, the greater the support. We like a possibility to remove the straps as then you can enjoy the benefits of bandeau style and it adds up to the versatility of your beach outfit.

But don’t get too excited about bandeau style as it actually tends to widen your shoulders and therefore doesn’t complement your symmetry. Get no-straps tan and au revoir, bandeau 🙂 Till next time.

If choosing the bikini, a clean design is a way to go for you. You should avoid any extra material, design element or any other stuff making your hips look wider. I envy these women, although looking a bit sexier and curvier, can still pull off two-piece swimsuits!

I usually wear tankinis and they are bit comfortable to move about when worn…I probably would try the high waists one, they cover a bit more and surely hides the unsightly insecurities a woman has. Thanks for sharing this.

    • Hi Marie

High waisted swimsuits are hot – a combination of retro and chic. Besides that, high-waisted bikinis offer the greatest coverage and option to control and shape your midsection if compared to other types of bikinis. So it is a great choice for women wishing to wear a bikini and at the time reducing the amount of skin exposed and looking for control over the midsection.

I like the pictures of the models wearing the swimsuits, therefore, I like your swimsuits. Celebrating all different body types is the way we men look at it. Keep doing your thing and remember to put on the sunscreen so you don’t get sunburned. Maybe you can sell sunscreen on your website as well. Keep it in the pool.

    • Hi Bradley

Celebrating your body type is the right way to go. It is all about loving your body and in case there is anything you consider as flaw – no worries – nowadays there are so many features available that majority of flaws can be concealed or corrected even in a swimsuit 🙂
Actually, I was considering adding beach accessories and cosmetics to my website so thank you for the encouragement – I will add them to my website with time.

      Cheers, Arta
